I’m a junior at a very selective state-sponsored boarding school in Illinois. My school does not post any kind of class rank whatsoever, and we do not calculate GPA (in fact, it would be very difficult to do since none of our classes are weighted).
Dartmouth is my dream school, but would it be a waste of time to apply there since I have no class rank or GPA?

Of course not, few top high schools rank and many have unconventional grading systems. You probably have a good idea where you rank and this will be communicated to your colleges by your hs through the profile, experience with your school and through the counselors. Your SATs will also speak volumns. Apply!!
