I am applying early decision to stanford and probably interviewing and I want to see if I have a chance at all.

rocksupper- Everyone on here could “chance” you all day long, but in the long run, it won’t make a difference. Even though there are requirements that Stanford looks for, once those apps are in, it is a total crapshoot. There is no predicting who will make the cut and who won’t.

But don’t let that get you down! You have excellent credentials. I would work on getting your math score on the SAT up since you are thinking about engineering.

And start working on your essays -now, if you haven’t already. And just do your best in all you do. Stressing out will get you no where because, like I stated earlier, applying to Stanford is a total shot in the dark. They get tons of applicants and only so many will get in. Even those with perfect scores on everything, who cloned a sheep over their summer breaks, will be turned down. But don’t get discouraged! You still have an excellent shot!

Work on SAT. You need at least 700 across the board. Take it two more times, the 11 essay is nice.

On apps, let your personality shine through. I definitely had the most fun with my Stanford essays & they were by far the most whimsical and “out there” of my HYPS apps.
