Hi, Virginia Tech has been my dream school and I was wondering if it was possible for me to get in for a biology major.
Stats:
My gpa is a 3.46 weighted ( I know it’s low, but that’s because I was diagnosed with anxiety at the end of my sophomore year and I struggled during my junior year. I also lost a lot of family and friends during my junior year, which resulted in a grade drop)
I had a negative trend in grades from my sophomore year to junior year due to the above information.
In my senior year, however, I was getting better and my grades are so much better as I have a 4.05 for my first semester grades (not cumulative for all four years).
I took my ACT three times and I got a 29 my last time but I got a super score of 30.
I took one chem subject sat and got a 700.
I took 8 aps (1 in sophomore year, 3 in junior year and 4 in senior year).
I got a 2 in ap physics, a 3 in ap chem, a 3 in ap world and a 4 in ap psych on the exams.
Extracurriculars:
I have been dancing for 10-11 years and I had a solo 3-hour performance the summer of my sophomore year in India. I’ve also competed in other states and I’ve placed in top 3. I have also performed a lot.
I am a indian classically trained singer and I have competed and performed for that as well. I have also placed in top 3 in some competitions. I auditioned for a dance performance in the Kennedy Center and I was accepted. Additionally, my dance company partnered up with a non- profit organization and we raised 40,000 dollars.
I also shadowed an orthodontist, went to a summer medical program at GWU for a couple of weeks and I am a co-founder of a company. I was on the honor roll in my sophomore year. I teach 10-15 six to ten year olds at my dance school now and I do it with two other people. I am a part of the Spanish Honor Society and I am the Vice- President of the Music Honor Society. I am a part of a South Asian Society Club and Eco Club. I auditioned and got into one of the advanced choirs at our school. Finally, I worked with elderly and, who were abandoned by their families in India.
I hope that this is enough information! Thank you for taking your time to read this
