Do you think I have a chance at Cornell?

For privacy, go back and take out the name of your HS!

thanks! i forgot to do that

Unweighted GPA? Test scores? Top 15 in number or percent?

My first question is why Cornell for pre-med? They are known to be quite competitive. Very, very different vibe than Brown.

Secondly, what are your test scores? What college within Cornell did you apply to? Intended major?

No matter the answers to the above, have match and safety schools on your list.

4.21 weighted gpa, top 15 people in class, 1510 SAT Score, 34 ACT Score, 740 Math 1, intended major is Biology most likely.

Doctor is a popular dream coming out of high school, but almost none of them go to medical school. College is a maturation process where you find hidden passions. Therefore never choose a college based on “premed prestige” especially if you have to graduate with a mountain of debt.

Second, medical school is very very expensive. It’s imperative to keep your debt to a minimum. Too much of it can severely limit your career options later. If you choose to medical school, your best chance is in your home state, because state schools favor state residents.

Third, hyper-selective doesn’t mean “better.” I just means the school is too lazy to expand their capacity. Do some research and find an affordable school that works for you.
