<p>hey guys so i just got my sat score…they arent that good. they’re like >1600 range only. a bit depressed about that as im hoping to get into duke university. trust me i know its a LONG shot. but if u knew my situation i think u’d probably understand why i got that low. but anyway im working on writing a good essay and these are my ‘achievements’</p>
<p>academics
-a 3.5 cgpa (started college 6 weeks late, so I’m a bit happy about it. It’s not great but im blessed to have attained a good and ‘‘stable’’ cgpa)
-4A*'s, 2A’s and 2B’s in the latest IGCSE examination
-straight a’s for my year 9 public examination
-received an excellence award for achieving an A+ in science (2010) and mathematics (2011) examination in school</p>
<p>sports
-assistant secretary of the English Language Society, Squash and Tennis club
-active member of the Student Leader’s Board at school
-a school prefect
-participated in a crown prime race for my state</p>
<p>experiences and activities
-took part in my school event organised by the English Society for 3 consecutive years
-state public speaker 4th place
-district public speaker 1st place
-participated in inter-school public speaking competition
-participated in a consumerism competition (had to write an essay)
-gold for multimedia competition (organised by my school) for the month of independence in my country<br>
-took part in a debate workshop
-a teacher for the human development ministry in my church for 2 months only (due to transportation problems)</p>
<p>i know i have no chance in getting admitted to duke but who knows u guys may think otherwise?!..as i said before, im trying to work on a good essay for duke…i hope i am ‘‘duke worthy’’. my sat score may prove otherwise
