Please tell me if you think I have a chance, or if I should start looking at safer schools!

Thank you,
Lauren

Yes and yes. You have a chance. So do the other 16000 apps. Now go start that list of match and safety schools.

Do you mean you got a 1390 on the OLD sat?? B/c a 1390 on the new one certainly would be below what Yale is looking for. :)

Sorry, I haven’t quite mastered the SAT lingo yet.

On the new SAT with writing, I have a total of 2150.

You most certainly have a chance. I would start working on you admissions essays and get extreamely good recs. Studnets like you are hard for schools like Yale to chose from. You will probably get placed into a pool and discussed in a comittee. Your recs and essays are what will play a major role in admitting you or not. Your scores rank like average Yale applicants and you have astounding extracurriculars and comunity service. Remember also that applying early decision my hurt you as well. The early decision pool are usually strong applicants and if you are not accepted then you may not be considered. If you apply regular decision, apply a little early. As much as it is a cliche it does help. Well good luck!!!
