<p>OSDAD has it correct, your family background has no real basis here. One thing that might be helpful is if your dad had a min of 8yrs active service (I believe that is correct). If so then you would be eligible for a Presidential Nomination (keep in mind only 100 candidates can be appointed w/ a Presidential Nom which is why it’s important to still continue w/ the process of receiving an appointment via your senator or congressman).</p>
<p>Certainly get your applications into your Sen/Congressmen asap (most Senators application deadline was 1 Oct). Check out their websites to confirm what is required for your application package and when the deadline is - but your resume does look fairly strong.</p>
