Do I have a chance????

Hey guyz,

I am a Pakistani-American,male, came to United States four years ago, Northern Virginian and am a Permanent Resident.

IB Diploma Candidate
3.7-3.8 UW 4.0 W
ACT: 32 (33 S, 34 M, 31 E, 30 R)
SAT: 690E/680M/610W
SAT II: U.S. History 740, World History 720, Math 2 700

I do plan to retake my SAT and ACT

News Editor of my school newspaper (one of the best in nation)
In all three honor societies (not a big deal at my school)
Raised 30,000 for tsunami
Founded a program that helps immigrants assimilate
Have done PLENTY of tutoring (inner city, elementary schools, my school etc)
Model U.N., Math team (highest score), First Place Science Fair, Second Place in Regionals, Young Democrats (President), did a lot of campaigning and registered over 500 people to vote.

So, these are some quick facts about me. Do I have a shot at JHU? How about BME? I am thinking of applying for BME and international affairs, and I am applying RD.

I will appreciate ya’lls feedback.

You guys can be brutally honest, I won’t take it personally.

I think you have a descent shot for RD-- can you only submit your ACT?
otherwise the SAT’s have to come up.

With BME, your chances are very low-- it’s just too competitive for those slots.

will putting BME hurt my chances of getting in? I am only submitting my ACT score…unless my SAT comes up.

so should I not put BME down, or would it have no consequnces on my chances for admission in the college in general?

uh… yeah, putting BME on your app puts you into a much more competitive applicant pool with a lower admission rate…

but if you want BME at Hopkins, you must apply as an intended BME major.

GOOD LUCK

but I have heard that they can reject you from BME, but still accept you at college.

Do your chances for admission in the COLLEGE hurt too?
