<p>One of the benefits of a liberal arts education is to learn how to understand issues and relate to them before attempting to resolve them. Here is a perfect example of a knee jerk response and a dogged defense of an unsatisfactory action well after others in the community have responded with useful assistance. </p>
<p>I hope that this will serve as a teaching moment; I can only imagine that the mission of a top LAC has been misunderstood. It’s teaching first at the highest level of quality and programs as such second.</p>
