AP Calc AB
AP Stat
Honors Physics (I can’t take AP Physics, since I am in honors this year)
(free 1st sem/astronomy)
(Spanish 5)
Economics/Psych (we don’t offer ap psych or ap marco/micro)
english 12 (english is not my cup of tea… i would fail AP english)

Now, I have the opportunity to make my schedule:
AP Calc AB
AP Stat
Honors Physics
AP Bio
Econ/Psych
english 12
(Should I switch my schedule into that?)

The science chairperson said that I should pick honors physics or AP bio. She said it would be more advantagous to pick physics, since I have never taken it before. However, I really want to double up. But, she made the argument that she thinks there is the possibility I drop out of AP Bio if the schedule gets too hard. Then I would have no shot at Northwestern since I dropped out of a class. She thinks that possibility may happen since I only got a B+ in honors chemistry. Should I take the risk or no?
(

I think you’re fine. You’re school doesn’t offer that many AP choices and they’ll know that. AP Bio is the worst class I have ever taken. The material was easy but most AP Bio teachers make it about the busy “BS” work and I had an inch binder [full of my written work] due every 2-3 weeks.

BTW: Spanish 5 looks really good on your transcript.

Thank you for your input SeniorIndian but the thing is there is a decent amount of AP’s offered for seniors at my school, I just don’t qualify for a lot of them. Here are all the options for seniors:
(AP Art(I took it already)
AP Computer Science (took it already),
AP Stat(taking next year),
AP Calc AB(taking next year),
AP Calc BC (didn’t qualify since I wasn’t in honors precalc, just normal precalc),
AP Bio (qualify)
AP Chem (qualify, but I hate chem)
AP Physics C E@M and electromag (never took physics before, so honors is my option_
AP Euro (didn’t qualify)
AP English (didn’t qualify)
AP SPanish (qualified but, I wouldn’t do well in AP Spanish since I only know grammar, but I can’t pronounce anyword) (really! I would get A+'s in spanish if it wasn’t for my absymal speaking)

That’s pretty ridiculous that they make you qualify. At my school, anyone can really take any AP they want [with some limitations on GPA if the class is popular]. I would say take Chem or Bio. You’re school seems harsh and if you qualify for Chem or Bio they must have a reason. Again, that’s not really THAT many APs. 7 [minus ones took/are taking] “APs” that NU will know was available at your school. I believe there are 30ish and my school offers 30ish - 1 [Chinese, but will be introduced]. So you don’t need to take as many as I should be taking since I can technically fill up 7 spots with APs next year [and am not].

“really! I would get A+'s in spanish if it wasn’t for my absymal speaking” Take it then. AP is about listening and writing. Its a college level class and although some presentations may require speaking, I doubt it’ll be class assignments like I had in 1-3.

Again, I wouldn’t overdo it. I say add one more.(:

alright senior indiam, thank you for your input, I think I am going to take AP Bio, since AP Bio has been rehashed by college board, and it is supposed to be more conceptual instead of memory cramming. That seems easier, and it won’t be overdoing it.

(I am still welcome to more input from other CC’ers. Specifially how many AP’s did the engineering/business/pre-med majors that go to Northwestern did)
