Do I have any change of getting into University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

I really want to go to UIS in Champaign-Urbana because of their boxing program and my girlfriend is going there next year. I didn’t do very well in high school had 3.1, 3.0, 2.9, 2.7 GPA. Also I have just finished my first year of college with a 2.8GPA (Minimum requirement for the program I am applying to). I didn’t do any extracurricular activities until Community College, where I have started seriously boxing on a team. I know this is ridiculously under qualified for this school the only reason I am asking is because I am applying for the Creative Writing program which I know isn’t nearly as competitive as the Engineering ones. I was also going to write a short story and submit it to the head department. And I know this sounds crazy but I was also going to write (at least in part) in my essay about how when I was 12 I lived in a boys home in the woods that had no technology, and I spent all of my available free time reading books. Also I got a 28 on my ACT. I can also get a recommendation letter from the Director of the Special Education Department in my district vouching for all of that shit I had to get through to get where I am. Any opinions welcome. You won’t hurt my feelings.

Also I am really fucking good at boxing

Your stats are not good. You should also not go to some school in large part because someone in your relationship is. If the only reason you want to come is because of boxing, talk to the athletic people there. That’s basically all you got.
