Hi guys! I’m taking the SAT reasoning test on June. That will be the first time I’ll be taking any standardized test. I’ll be taking the subject tests on October. Will I have enough time to retake the SAT reasoning test before the ED deadline which is Nov 1/ Nov 15 for most colleges?
Hi @vassan777 ! I’m a gappie and am doing the same as you mentioned earlier. If you did well on both the exams(1 and 2), you are fine. If, however you didn’t live up to your expectations you won’t have enough time to retake the reasoning test. I recommend taking sub tests in September.
hey, thanks for the reply! so i should take the subject tests on September and the reasoning test again on October and that way I’ll meet the deadline?
Check the website for the school you are applying ED to. It should tell you when the last acceptable test date is. I just checked one website and for ED the last test date is November. But it’s important you check with the school you are applying to.
There are no SAT tests in September.
Most schools will accept November tests for ED though.
are there really no tests in September??

this one said that there was one. Is it not true?? @OrchidBloom
SAT is normally administered in October, November and December (and then January, March, May, June). The link @applier2015 posted says that registration deadline for October test is in September. For most schools with ED, last SAT before deadline is October. For schools with ED II, last SAT before deadline is November. But these deadlines are posted on the websites of each college. Note that ACT does have a September date. http://www.actstudent.org/regist/dates.html#second
^That
There are ACT tests in September though.
not taking the ACT
The information is correct: There is NO SAT (reasoning or subject) in September.
“That will be the first time I’ll be taking any standardized test.”
What happened to the SAT score of 2250 you posted on 4/21?
Vassan777, your question goes specifically to ED. Since you can apply to only one university ED, it would be helpful to know which one you plan to apply to or which ones if you are focusing on just a few. Whether the Nov test is timely depends on the particular college. There are some with early Nov application dates that require all testing to be completed by Oct and others that accept through the Nov test.
that was just a practice test
That clarified, colleges ordinarily provide sufficient time for even their ED applicants to retake the SAT in the fall; it’s likely that they established their deadlines with an awareness of the SAT schedule. As emphasized in this thread, check the particular college to be safe.
