<p>Would I be able to get into an Ivy league College or a UC if I apply with a 3.87 GPA, High SAT/ACT Scores, Enrolled in School’s Marching Band, Wrestling and Track Team, Community Service, Play Trumpet for the Elderly in Retirement Center, and tutor low income students. However, My only cons are that I got a D in Calculus AB my sophomore year and many C’s my freshman year. Should I go talk to my Freshman year teachers to boost my grades to B’s, as I got quite a few C+'s from being lazy near finals. I have taken a total of 6 AP Classes and plan on taking another 5 more senior year. I’m planning to apply to two public universities which are UCLA and UC Berkeley, and quite a few private colleges like Stanford, Yale, Harvard, and Wharton. I plan to pursue a Business degree.</p>
<p>No offense, but with these grades it is completely and totally unrealistic for you to apply to the schools you have listed. Really re-think. If you need proof of how unrealistic, go to the various school forums (schools in the Ivy forum, for example) and read the threads with stats from accepted students. Not only are the grades not anywhere within the accepted range, but your pedestrian ECs put you completely out of the running for schools at the Ivy level. Again, go look on the Ivy Forum, particularly the specific school threads where newly admitted students give their stats.</p>
<p>Sorry to be tough, but you need an immediate reality check. It isn’t going to happen at these schools for you, and you need to regroup and rethink. UCLA and Berkeley are also probably not possible. </p>
<p>The poor grades – which will be part of your permanent transcript – are the kiss of death for these schools. Sorry. And the ECs are just not selective college level, at all.</p>
<p>Let me add, however. You have EVERY RIGHT to apply where ever you want. Every right. But please be realistic and create a mix of schools that include some to which you have realistic chances of admittance. A dream school is great. And everyone should have one. But your entire list is made up of dreams and wishes that – given the information you have provided – is not realistic. Your credentials are too far from the acceptance norm for your list. Please re-think and be realistic. But of course, one or two dream schools is appropriate, as long as the rest of your list of schools is a match to your credentials.</p>

<p>What if I attend a Community College for 2 years then transfer over to UCB or UCLA. They do not look at your High School Transcript if you do that. I will try to maintain a 4.0 GPA at all costs and finish their Business School requirements.</p>
