Do I have hope?

I am a hispanic female located in the shoutheastern US. I’m in the top 1% of a class of 750. I’m in the IB program. I speak three languages fluently, and I’ve gotten a 2200 on the SAT. I’m a Questbridge Finalist. I’m the president and founder of the Science Honors Society at my school, and I also actively participate in NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, the Geography Club, the award winning school lit mag, and Amnesty International. I tutor a learning disabled student in AP European and US History, as well as Algebra II. I have also volunteered as a Counselor in a summer camp, and I have started a support group for people with a certain medical condition. I also play piano and have won awards for writing.

MY SATII scores aren’t that good, though. I have a 700 in lit, a 650 in Chem, and a 660 in Math I.

yES u have hope! weird that u didnt get matched to Yale, but i m almost certain that u r a top contender for RD…unless you applied EA, that is???

I wasn’t matched because of economic reasons, according to Questbridge. As in, my family makes a little over 50,000 and most that get matched make less than 40,000.

I’m currently an RD applicant for yale.

Another IB person! Yay. You have hope. Of course, no one ever knows when it comes to competitive schools. If you do like Yale, for the college, and not just for the idea of going to an Ivy, then by all means apply!

You definitely have a chance!

Why didn’t you apply early to Yale?

i understand, Lightbright and although i was way qualified for QB economically (less than 30 k/large family) i was scared that i wouldnt get matched to Yale through QB and decided to do EA instead…sigh…now i m wishing i did QB hehe. but hey, i really hope Yale works out for the both of us! ;)

Good luck for RD! :)
