I am transferring there in the fall but also taking a summer class there (starts next week), so do I have to inform my admissions officer about that? Also, how strict are they about rescinding if I get a C in the summer class?

Have you read the conditions of admission…you can get rescinded for taking a summer class without telling your admissions officer. I don’t know what would happen if you got a C.

@music1990 is right. You were supposed to tell your admissions officer by or before June 1st about taking any summer classes.

Wow didn’t think that applied to classes at Berkeley itself. The checklist thing encouraged me to do “transfer edge” and it never said anything about informing the officer…

Yeah guess I screwed up big. Should I just drop it or try contacting him now?

I would contact them.

This is what it says on the conditions of admission:

“If you wish to attend summer for any reason, you must receive approval from your UC Berkeley Admissions Officer before you enroll in summer courses. You may not attend a 4-year college/university or UC Extension without prior permission from your Admissions Officer.”

Are you just taking the course for fun?

Summer Session 2014:
**You may not attend summer session 2014 for the purpose of completing a minimum of 60 UC-transferable semester units, IGETC, or UC Reciprocity requirements.
*If you wish to attend summer for any reason, you must receive approval from your UC Berkeley Admissions Officer before you enroll in summer courses. You may not attend a 4-year college/university or UC Extension without prior permission from your Admissions Officer.
*Failure to consult your Admissions Officer about summer enrollment options by June 1, 2014 could jeopardize your admission.
**If you are approved for summer enrollment, you must provide proof of enrollment and you must earn a 3.0 or higher GPA with no individual course grade lower than a C.

I’d imagine they wouldn’t care if you’re just doing it for your education/fun.

uhh. i did the same thing. i didnt contact my admission officer, but I assumed it meant something else.
tell me what happens to you? I already paid for summer so I dont want to back out lol.

Which course are you taking? Is it online through Berkeley? @elmermmhmm & @underbear

my admissions counselor told me its fine but i need to send him the classes I am in and he’ll approve it.
It’s weird though, because it seems like if we get a C even though we’re already technically in, it is reason for being rescinded lol. amazing clap clap to uc berkeley… shouldn’t have done it lol.
