<p>the Grants i got in the Financial Aid package are more than the Tuition, so it’s for RoomBoard. then Do I have to live the dorms on-campus? I can’t find any statement that says no on the web, but i’m just not sure.</p>
<p>p.s. I got a outside scholarship ($2500 from Texas Student Housing) to live in Ballpark apartment…it’s 20 minutes from the UT Austin. </p>

<p>you don’t have to live on campus. in fact, only 55%-ish freshman do</p>
<p>No you don’t. Any extra money you have will be deposited into your bank account–I believe after the 12th class day.</p>
<p>However, most landlords won’t delay a payment that late, so you have to be able to pay your first couple months’ rent to do this.</p>
<p>Also, the Ballpark isn’t in the greatest neighborhood, and is kinda far away, so keep that in mind.</p>

<p>A year. Usually contracts are early August to early August.</p>
<p>It will not be possible for you to find a friend and rent another appartment together, unless you sublease from someone leaving an apartment, and probably would have to share a bedroom in that scenario. You may be able to find a place far away from campus, but if you’re going to live at the Ballpark at all you will probably have to live there a year. Besides, you would have to find someone to take over your lease at the Ballpark just to leave the Ballpark to move to another apartment.</p>
<p>vivian, if you dont mind me asking, are you an instate applicant? and what was your efc? my efc is pretty low, but i’m pretty worried that being an out of state applicant, i’ll be issued more loans than grants. :/</p>

<p>yep…i’m from TX. my efc is 0 actually because i only have my mum. The university does give more money to in-state student than out-state.</p>
