To fulfill prerequisites, I have to take Biology, Physics II, and Chemistry II all in my last semester at CC. Those are all tough classes, and since they’re all labs, I’m going to be in class a lot more than I ever have (~25 hours a week). Although I know I can pass all those classes, I’m not sure whether I can get good grades in all of them. Am I required to maintain a certain GPA for my last semester? I am applying to Berkeley and applied for TAG to Irvine.

For TAG, you have to maintain at least the gpa required to get the Tag. I believe for irvine it’s 3.4 - so your final cum GPA needs to be at least that.

Berkeley might require a specific semester GPA, I know EECS tends to require a 3.0+ average for your last semester (not overall, just Spring grades) but different majors have different rules. Other schools will tell you to keep your overall GPA above certain point, usually 3.0+ overall and no failed classes in the spring.

The good news is that terms and conditions come with your acceptance letters, so you’ll know what you’re up against before you commit to a school.
