Do I have to pay room and board if I want to stay somewhere else?

<p>I am planning to go to sbcc. They wrote there room and board, 11k. If I want to stay somewhere else like tropicana, do I have to pay for room and board when ? </p>

<p>I got confused because it wrote there, living with parents- 4 k and living away from home- 11k</p>

<p>When you live with your parents, you don’t have to pay rent, electric, etc. When you live on your own, you do. It is why the extra costs are added in.</p>

It said “living with parents” -4.518k</p>

<p>Shouldn’t it be 0 as I am not using there room?</p>

<p>They might be calculating how much food you will consume plus transportation and or how much it would be if you paid for a room in the house. You can call sbcc to clarify.</p>
