On January test I got CR 780 M 800 W 700.

I am an international student and I am thinking of Brown or Upenn.

Do you think I have to take SAT again to combine writing section score?

I don’t think you have to.

In general, if they superscore, I generally recommend that you take it again, because you have nothng to lose.

Admission into the Ivies is so tough that perhaps getting a 730 instead of a 700 might make the difference.

However, given that your 700 is in writing, I would say that in your case, don’t take it again.

Writing is hard to study for, and is given less importance than your other scores.

Why do you think that writing is the hardest to study for?

@floridadad55 im just wondering. Thanks!

I would put it as a definite no. I got into Columbia with a 2200. And whether they say it explicitly or not, all colleges treat Reading & Math a lot more seriously than Writing. With a 1580/1600 in that respect, you’d be mad to give it again.

^ I agree. Having writing at or about 700 is good enough, while your CR+M score is great.
