<p>well…my teacher told us if you start listing line numbers, then do it throughout the essay. if you don’t start from the beginning, then don’t just suddenly in the middle start referencing line numbers…the key is to be consistent.</p>

<p>smile: no, i didn’t either. as long as you were consistent. i’m not extremely concerned, especially if my teacher says its ok not to(as long as you were consistent, she said). and her students in the past have done really well. so i trust her. i wouldn’t worry about it. anyway, its not like you can do anything to change what’s done and finished.</p>
<p>I read some sample 9’s from past years that didn’t cite.</p>
<p>None of the sample 9’s and 8’s we read in class included line citing, maybe one did, but my teacher said, like hopeful_gtb’s to be consistent.</p>
<p>I’m sure after reading hundreds of essays that the readers know the poems well enough that they don’t have to check which lines you cited.</p>
