do I need some middle ground...?

ok, so I’m only applying to five colleges as of now (Northwestern U., Washington in St. Louis, UC - Berkeley, Kansas State, and U. of Tulsa) and they are pretty much either really easy to get into (K-State and Tulsa) or pretty hard to get into (the rest) so I was wondering if I should probably try to find some middle ground places that I have a good chance of getting into, anyway my reader’s digest academic resume:

SATI - 1340 (700 math, 640 verbal)
ACT - 29 composite
SATII - 760 math IIc, 720 Physics, 610 Writing (ugh :frowning: )
GPA - 3.71 (hopefully going up at mid year)
Rank - 49/460
Curriculum: IB diploma candidate, have taken the hardest classes I’ve been able to meet the prerequisites for or had time in my schedule for.
Extracurriculars: member of east conservation organization (recycling, environmental work around school, volunteering), National Honor Society, Interact club member, orchestra.

Pretty much I’m screwed as far as the upper level schools go, except for maybe Washington in St. Louis, I don’t know, what do you all think? should I expand my options in what little time is left?
