<p>I’m gonna be attending Boston College next year, but the place I really wanted to go was UChicago; I got rejected. The rejection was partly because of my essays and recommendations, real bummer. lol
Anyways, do you think I will be able to transfer to UChicago from a place like Boston College? Overall, what is the acceptance rate for transfers, and how will attending BC “hurt” me opposed to attending a top school??</p>

<p>Boston College is considered enough of a “top college” but it definitely won’t help as much as Uchicago’s actual peers such as Cornell/Northwestern/etc. </p>
<p>Get good grades and yes I think you can transfer. Acceptance rates are very low and it differs from year to year but it is defnitely way harder to transfer than to apply as a freshman (which is why some ppl take gap years).</p>

<p>I would expect U Chi to have kept your file, so they would re-read your recs and factor that view in…if this is so, how would you plan/hope to get around the recs?</p>

It’s my essays that really sucked, I’m not saying that a better essay would have gotten me in, but it sure wouldn’t have hurt. I’m hoping that I can write a better one, and maybe get some profs to write me better recs?</p>
