Do I need to report Scholarships as Income?

I have to send a Student Non-Tax Filer’s Statement for IDOC. I received a $300 scholarship. Would I report that as a source of income?

If that is used for tuition then no. Even if it is for room and board, which is taxable, it is not enough to trigger a tax filing.
