do I need to stay at the same CC for two years to be a strong candidate?

I currently go to Marymount College, a private JC in Southern California.

Next year, I want take a semi-break from school. I want go back home to Maui to work and to attend Maui Community College as a part-time student.

After that, I want to return to Marymount, get my A.S. from there, and then transfer out to a 4-year university (my top choices are Brown and Georgetown).

Is this discontinuity frowned upon? Will I still be an eligible candidate for transfer? How will these top schools look at this?

thanks!

I don’t think it will be frowned upon… I went to work and took several classes from 3 separate colleges before I decided I wanted to enroll fulltime. I am now in a CC and transferring after this semester. have been accepted in lots of great schools… like Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Penn State… I’m still waiting on UVA, Cornell and UPenn

Good Luck…
