Do I need to take AP tests for my major?

Hi everyone, I have a question about AP tests. As a senior, I am currently enrolled in AP Spanish, AP Art History, and AP Statistics. In college, I plan on majoring in international relations, and minoring/taking classes in an Asian language, such as Korean. My question is, do I need to take these AP tests? Will they help me get out of classes in my major? Here are the colleges I’m applying to:

  1. UW - Madison (accepted)
  2. UWM - Twin Cities (accepted)
  3. UMich (accepted)
  4. Tulane (accepted)
  5. Fordham (accepted)
  6. Northwestern (waiting)
  7. Oberlin (accepted)
  8. Macalester (waiting)
  9. Carleton (waiting)
    Thanks for all the help!

AP Spanish might get you out of courses in your major, but the others will most likely just get you out of general education/pre-requisite classes, which is still helpful because then you can take more classes that actually pertain to your major instead. If you feel confident that you can pass the exams, I’d say go for it! And good luck.
