Good luck! Go knock their socks (or hose off).
I think I am more concerned with the sleeveless dress. I love the dress, but think the bare arms may not be appropriate. Again, it depends upon the type of company that you are interviewing with. I like the idea of looking at how the women dress at the company ahead of time. It should probably be a notch above this for an interview. Best of luck!
It’s a job at a staffing company, PT position. I thought about the sleeveless dress, too, but couldn’t find any dresses I liked that looked professional enough with them. I think it will be fine.
I do agree that if it were for a different type of company like a law firm, etc, I would feel more comfortable in a business suit. But for this, I’m ok.
There is nothing wrong with a nice cardigan…
Cardigan an no pantyhose in the staffing business. Even if you just hold the cardigan.

So, this cardigan would look nice with the dress, but I don’t want to spend the money. Honestly, the dress is not a dress I would wear anywhere else but to an interview or a funeral, and I just spent $100 on it. I don’t mind, as it’s timeless and it will give me a goal to maintain my current weight so I’ll always fit into it when I need it. (Grin). But not sure I want to shell out the dough for the cardigan, as it would be over $50. But it’s pretty.
@conmama go to Marshalls for a sweater. You can get something appropriate for $20 or less.
Agree with the no pantyhose. Sleeveless dress is fine, too. Good luck.
The question is what do your legs look like. I had decent looking legs few years back. The looked shapely with good tone. In the last year or so, my legs started to look a bit wrinkling and not as toned. But when I put on sheer pantyhose, they still look very nice.
What’s the difference?
LOL! My lower legs are wrinkle free, toned and slightly tanned. Can’t say the same anymore for the thighs and above the knees, but they are covered!
We’re a Fortune 400 company, but if someone showed up here in hose, we might have to fend off the gawkers wondering what they were! I have a bigger problem with the attire of some of the current employees. You wonder what they are thinking when they look in the mirror in the morning!
It depends on the workplace.
In my school, sleeveless: no. Panty hose: yes.
When in doubt, conservative is the way to go.
I don’t understand what is wrong with sleeveless as long as your arms are in decent shape (just like we have said re: legs for no hose) and the armholes fit properly and the neckline and back are non-revealing.
I’m going to be honest, if I’m going to be judgmental at all (or draw an opinion) from an outfit I’m going to judge the frumpy, dated look or the two-sizes-too-small look than a pair of nice enough legs and arms!!!
We have a business casual dress code, jeans on Fridays. I kid you not, one of my long term employees wore a captain america costume looking dress to work the other day. The day she was coming in extra early because we were having IT issues and the office manager couldn’t get in early enough. That’s what she thought would look great representing us. And yes, it had the star on the chest and striped skirt and everything.
Pantyhose or not would be the least of my concerns.
How great are everyone’s leg that they look good without hose? Are they all even toned and tan? I would hate for my ultra white (almost translucent) with spots and veins and puffyness at the ankle if it’s the end of the day, not to have something to make them look more even…really, everyone has great legs but me?
^^ Well, if your legs are horrible, then you wear trousers! Encasing legs in nylon isn’t the fix.
Yes. I am in the no hose camp in summer. I would interview in that dress but probably add the cardigan because my arms look old. My legs are fine and no varicose veins thank goodness. No matter what I do my neck will give my age away anyway!
Well…ive been to to three weddings since May 12, which included at three events per wedding. I didn’t wear hose to any of them. And I wore knee length dresses so my legs definitely showed. Then again…I wore some form of scrappy shoe to each of those events, and they would have looked ridiculous with hose.
I guess my legs must have looked their age at all these events…no hose.
@threeofthree, tanning towels to the rescue! I had a number of graduations to attend and my legs are in decent shape but were mighty white. Those tanning towels work great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000SX3380/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
