I am currently a senior in high school. I have a 1900 SAT score(1220 in C.R. and Math) and a 3.9 GPA. I am taking all honors and ap courses and doing relatively well. I am in the top 10% of my graduating class of 415. I am a member of the Environmental Club in my school. I am also a member of the International Language Honor Society for Spanish. I have done over 100 hrs of community service at a day care center in my town. Do I stand a chance?

I would say yes. I know plenty of people who got in with similar stats. However, they all came from my school and I am a NJ resident. If you are, then i’d say yes! If not, then I’m not exactly sure of their OOS rates.

Thanks. And yeah, I am an NJ resident. How would you rate the school? Is it a good school?

It is a good school. And it’s much better than a lot of people assume. Also, it has a great campus life, from what I hear. The sports games/social environment are apparently a lot of fun. The only negative things I’ve heard are that the campus is too big for some people, and that the partying can be excessive, but I’ve also heard that if you’re not into partying, it’s easy to avoid. I’ve seen the main campus, and its lovely. There are multiple campuses, though. The others are smaller and not far away and are only utilized by certain majors and graduate students.

Ok, thank u very much. I really appreciate ur help.

You definitely have a chance! What school(s) are you applying to: SAS? SEBS?

Also, it is a pretty cool school. Academically, the reputation is high! There are a lot of things to do here: clubs, sororities/fraternities, events put on by the student association program (they bring some great musicians, performers, and famous people to come speak here). Yes, it can be quite large at times and the partying is big here, but it is quite avoidable.

There are 4 different campuses within the New Brunswick/Piscatway campus:
College Avenue - I would call it the center of the campus. It is conveniently close to downtown and Easton Avenue near the bars, shops, eatery places and such. It tends to be the “party” campus since the frats and sorority houses are here, but that is usually off campus.
Livingston - It is quiet and there are a lot of parking lots. It gets a bad rap, but seriously, I was there the other day and they have done A LOT to try and improve it with the recently reconstructed student center and new dining hall that they are currently constructing.
**Busch **- mostly science majors reside here. A lot of the athletic fields are here. The football stadium – of course. And the dorms are nice-sized. There are also suites here, which I believe are the only suites on campus. The dining hall food is excellent. It is the second most busy campus aside from College Avenue, but yet quiet enough during weekends to avoid distractions.
Cook/Douglass – We consider it one campus since Cook is a tad small so we combine them together. Douglass is home to the women residential college (which I am a part of) and Cook is home to the farms and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. It is a quaint, cozy campus and looks lovely during the Fall and Spring.
