…So do you think I actually have a chance of getting accepted here? Please give me your honest opinions! I plan to be a pre-med and economics double major

Your SAT score (UMich does not superscore) as well as your class rank are serious drawbacks. You’re a high reach for admission.

I have a feeling your school is a bit easy. What type of classes did you take?

What school do you go to? How rigorous is it really? Because I live outside of Philly to and go to a private school as well and I know there are some schools that are private but are kind of a joke…

I agree with entenduintransit. Your SAT and class rank are really low compared to the typical Michigan admit. Your chances are not good at all.

Oh okay, my parents both graduated from there. I don’t know if I would say it is one of the best schools in the country though… my parents didn’t want me to go there and they’re alums. Also, O’Hara isn’t private. Some examples of private schools you would know would be Episcopal, Malvern Prep, Villa Maria Academy, Haverford School, St. Joe’s Prep and Academy of Notre Dame. With that said I think Michigan is a definite reach, but you should still go for it if you want too.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I’m not too confident with Michigan, but I still might apply and see what happens. An adcom might just want to take a chance with me. This is how I feel about Maryland as well. I applied there without my November SAT, so they just received my March SAT, so I’m not sure that I’ll get in at Maryland at all. But who knows, college admissions is a weird thing
