Do I still have a chance?

I applied to USF in December and just found out I was deferred. It asked for my midterm transcript (not optional), letters of recommendation, a resume, and a personal statement (all optional) so I decided since I had already sent in my resume and an essay with the application, I would send in two letters of recommendation. I am hoping for the best.

My stats:
GPA: 3.3 (not so great)
ACT: 27
SAT: 1830

Activities:

• Camp Counselor for community summer camp
• Child care provider for community families
• Receptionist at Prudential Realtors
• Attended soccer camps at U.S. Naval Academy and University of North Carolina
• Young Life
• JV & Varsity Soccer

Volunteer Work:

• Sarah’s House (Day long child-care for single mothers)
• WoodsWork (Habitat for Humanity)
• Relay for Life (Breast Cancer Charity Event)
• Giving Back Organization (Homeless Drive)
• Young Life Work Crew (Month-long serving at Young Life Camp)
• Sunday School / Confirmation Class Leader
• Family Camp Work Crew (Weekend serving & child care at Young Life Family Camp)
• Work Crew Weekend (Weekend serving at Youth Group Church Retreat)
• Young Life Capernaum Club Leader (Young Life club for disabled youth)
• Wyldlife Leader (Young Life club for Middle School youth)
• Marley Glen School (Assisted teachers & taught handicapped children)

your ACT is pretty good, are you sure they received it? might want to call and make sure.

also, remember that USF calculates your GPA different than high schools do… so, on USF’s end you may not actually have a 3.3 gpa… that’s the case with a friend of mine, her weighted high school GPA is a 3.9, but USF calculated it as a 3.2 or something like that :/

Thanks for the reply! On the admission status page, it says they have received my ACT and SAT scores, but I probably should check and make sure. And that’s weird about the GPA but I guess it’s understandable. I just really hope I still have a chance, I love the school so much.

AHHH I was just accepted!
