Do I still have a chance?

Here are my stats, I did really bad sophomore year, and since I’m taking hard classes, I’m definately not going to get a 4.0 my junior or senior years, so do I still have a shot at bucknell? Also, how far away is philly and pittsburgh from here?

(start of resume)
*I am an Asian Indian Male
*From a competitive public high school in Oregon, Beaverton High School, which was also rated the best AP school in Oregon, so yeah, its a smart school.

I think your statistics so far are very strong for Bucknell. I don’t think you blew it in your soph year. Although as a rising junior there is still a lot of impt statistics, like your jr and sr grades and SAT scores, which are critical for a complete picture of your application.

You are very busy and I think the only gap that I see is whether you are able to de-stress with friends or if you spend a lot of your time on a quest to build a resume. Newsweek has an article about this very dilema affecting a lot of teens, not just you. Bucknell seems to get well rounded students. They don’t expect perfection in all academic areas, as an admissions counselor told me last year. My advice to you is to continue the good grades and extracurricular involvement, but to also have fun and be sure to make friendships while you are in school. I was very impressed with the nice quality of students I met while at move in day this past Friday. Somehow Bucknell does a pretty good job at admitting people who want to be a part of its community.

Oh, and Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are each about 3.5 hours away, with Philly being a bit closer. Good luck.
