If Bates doesn’t work out, the other 2 would definitely be worth a look. Good luck to your daughter.
In this vicinity, Wheaton may represent a nice LAC to consider, depending on what your daughter hears from Bates, of course.
Colorado College is extremely hard to get into if you are from Colorado. Their in-state population is up to 20% (from 15% a few years ago), but that still means that their in-state acceptance rate is 4-5% lower than their generally stated acceptance rate. Our local high school has 1700 students and rarely sees more than one accepted to CC. So no, there is not a preference, it’s really quite the opposite.
I’m wondering how accurate the College Factual numbers for Williams are. I can’t believe that in my daughter’s circle of friends are the only student from Wisconsin, one of the 2 students from NM, one of the 3 from DC, and one of the 3 from Alaska. Williams isn’t that small!
That’s why I noted it’s third party. Some schools make the #s easy to access like Bama. Or give a top ten states. Others don’t so then it’s the third party. Is it directionally correct even ? I’d hope but no way to know.
I’m sure schools have the data - if someone made a formal request.
Note that to fairly estimate the entire student body at Williams by geography, multiply figures such as these by four.
The College Factual statistics may have been initiated by the Department of Homeland Security. I’m not sure. However, they seem to have been static for a few years, which would indicate they are outdated.
