Do LAC's really care about Grades?

Are Liberal Arts College’s the way to go if you do a ton outside of the class, but your grades are only mediocre?

Thanks

No, in fact, LAC’s, like larger schools, give the GREATEST weight to grades throughout high school and the rigor of the courses you took. They look for students who have consistently challengenged themselves by taking honors/AP classes and done well in them. Even the most glowing extracurriculars could rarely compensate for a mediocre high school record. But on the whole, LAC’s tend to look at your application more holistically than do large state schools.

They might be more willing to give you a break, but they will want to see at least a level that shows you can do the work.

If you have mediocre grades, look at second and third tier universities and LACs.

LACs on the whole probably emphasize grades more than do other universities. They pride themselves on their intellectual environments.

Grades always matter; unless we’re talking about the University of Nowheresville that accepts applicants with 1.0 GPA and doesn’t care if you’re a convicted felon.

where’s that university? I want to make it renowned…

Hahaha. It’s in Nowheresville.

Are you from Johor? Or near KL?

me? im from PJ. why johor?

I was born there :)

U.S. Citizen now.
