<p>I sent my IDOCs in three days ago. This is very late considering the deadline was March 1. I did this because I applied to Carnegie Mellon during ED and my decision was supposed to come in December. It didn’t so I thought something got messed up, long story short, I didn’t bother because I assumed that no decision meant I was rejected. I got my acceptance on March 22nd, three months after the expected decision date. I only applied to Carnegie ED because I knew they would meet full need. Technically I am now an RD applicant PLUS I am late with my IDOCs. Will I still receive enough aid to go? Under ED, I would’ve received full.</p>
<p>If you did not get accepted to CMU during the time the ED acceptances were sent out, and got your acceptance on March 22 which was when the RD acceptances were released, you are now accepted under RD whch means no guarantee that you will get full need met. Which means most likely that you will not get full need met. Whether being late with the IDOCs will have an impact or not, is unknown unless CMU tells you one way or the other. Whether you will still get enough aid to go there is unknown until you get a package and can evaluate it. </p>
<p>CMU uses PROFILE so that even if you did get full need met, it would be full need under their own definition, not using your FAFSA EFC. No telling what that definition would have been unless you got a pre read from them. At this point in time, all that matters is what they end up giving you and if it is enough for you to manage going there. If it is not enough, and you have other packages that are better from competitive schools you can discuss the matter with financial aid and ask if they can give you a better package. No guarantee they will match it or give you anything more but it won’t hurt to ask. </p>
<p>At this point, the ED is a moot issue.</p>
