Do math classes factor into your Science GPA?

Especially intermediate and upper-level math classes such as Multivariable Calc and Linear Algebra?

More in depth: I want to be a double major, one in math and one in the humanities. Next semester, I’m looking at a schedule that includes Bio 1, Orgo 1, Linear Algebra, and Multivariable Calc in the same semester, and Bio 2, Orgo 2, and two upper-level math classes the following semester, which might be daunting.

If those math classes might actually pose a threat to my science GPA, I figured I might hold them off until Junior and Senior years to complete them (thanks to AP credit and my school’s flexibility, this is possible) and complete my humanities major this year alongside Orgo 1 and Bio 1.

Would this plan of taking 2 humanities classes sound better than taking 2 maths along with the 2 pre-med weed-outs?

AMCAS includes all BCMP (Bio, chem, math and physics) classes in the sGPA.

<a href=“AMCAS® Course Classification Guide | Students & Residents”>https://www.aamc.org/students/download/181694/data/amcas_course_classification_guide.pdf

AACOMAS, OTOH, only includes BCP classes in the sGPA.

FWIW, both my Ds thought Calc 3 and linear algebra were easier than Calc 2.

Lol so I’ve heard, but I’d think 2 other humanities courses would be easier, and given that I’d be dealing with Bio and Orgo in the same semester as well, I’d thought it’d be ideal to make things as stress-free as possible.

But I guess if Calc 3 and Linear Algebra are easy enough, it might not be needed.

Depends on how you like to work. (IMO, math requires more regular incremental work [homework, exams]; humanities requires more of an end of the semester push to finish up the research paper. ) Also depends on your aptitude for math.
