Do Miracles happen at USC?

although binks09’s comment was a little rude, there’s no reason why you need to be such an ass. just lay off and chill.

although jkaplan1212’s comment was a little rude, there’s no reason why you need to be such a dufus*. just lay off and chill.

*I used a different word because I didn’t want to be such an ass… just a dufus, I guess. I’m just glad I’m not the target in this thread. But these lively discussions are always fun for distraction and comic relief while all await the decisions… :)

bump…

what does “bump” mean? i’ve always wondered that…

bring up my post

i dont get it.

By posting “bump,” it brings your post up to the top of the forum so it gets noticed.

woah really? wait u mean it brings ur thread to the top? cuz some of mine started going down and no one saw it but i was still looking for answers

Miracles do happen as SC. SC takes a very holistic approach to their admissions process, and that is what makes this school the greatest school in history, period. If you go here, you know what I am talking about. No one should be discouraged by their numbers, because although numbers do tell a lot about an applicant in most cases, in others they dont and USC understands this.

i hope so! altho i think my chances are like 5% lol oh well…maybe ill go for grad school. : / does it matter what college u go to before grad school, in ur opinion, to get into USC grad school?

wow, I hope that they take my entire app into consideration. Notre Dame claimed that they took a “holistic” approach and that didnt turn out well.

Babygrl, no, it wont really matter where you go for undergrad. It will, however, matter how well you do compared to the rigor of the education as well as how you score on the corresponding standardized test necessary to gain admission. Don’t trip though… If your on this forum your already doing the right thing and if you really want it, you can make it happen. I know of people who started out at a CC and ended up at Harvard Law.

how does that happen? how do people go to CC and then go to harvard? i dont think id be able to do that from just looking at where my sat scores are and gpa. im 15% ranking in the class, 4.2 gpa and most ppl have 4.5 at my school that are in the top ten percent, and sat scores: 1850. (soo below 2000). i dont know if im smart enough lol and thats not bein pessimistic but just realistic. i would love to go to any top school but i dont think its happenin this april. : / also USC has a really high mcat score, and i dont know if id be able to score that high cause i know some geniouses who get 35’s or so, and if i took it, id probably get a 28 or something like that lol

As far as CC to HLS, its just a matter of doing well at CC, transferring and doing well at a 4 year, and killing the LSAT.

Anyway, chill out on yourself. If you dont get in anywhere great, go to a CC for 1 year, get a 4.0 and transfer to USC. Start studying for the MCAT (although not intensively…yet) sophomore year, and I think you’ll find that you have more options that you ever thought.

I second what evo9 said. I’m an international so I don’t know as much about community colleges as others will, but I wouldn’t disregard them simply because they are not 4 year colleges. A good community college could be the perfect stepping stone to go on to a good 4 year school and then a great grad school.

If things don’t work out for me in April, then I’ll be considering community college to transfer to USC. It’s not what I ideally want, but it could lead me there eventually!

good suggestions…i never really considered community college…maybe a small local college, but community never crossed my mind.

So…my SAT results are back and the results arent promising.
