Will a school take both your ACT and SAT? Will they use both?

almost every single school accepts both

Every college accepts both (now that Wake Forest and Harvey Mudd have given in). In the case that you submit scores from both tests, colleges will generally use the better of the two scores.

If you submit both, they will use only one, the one they consider to be the higher. One exception to that I am aware of is Rose Hulman which uses only the math and English score from the ACT and math and CR score from the SAT and uses the highest section score of either test. In other words, if your math ACT is considered higher than your math SAT but your SAT CR score is considered higher than your ACT English score, the college will use the ACT math score and SAT CR score to determine admission.
