<p>I have just been informed by someone that most students at college have IPhones. Given that I’m about to pay for 4 years of a college education, I’m not likely to get my child an IPhone anytime soon. But I’m just curious - is this really true?</p>
<p>If I had to make a guess, I’d say that more than 50% of students here have smart phones, but not iPhones specifically. Smart phones can be quite helpful–particularly for transit, maps etc.–but they aren’t necessary. A number of students, myself included, get along just fine without one.</p>
