Next year, I will be in Army JROTC for four years. This year, I was in charge of computer work, keeping track of volunteer hours, contact information, and sign in sheets for events. Next year, I will actually be in charge of coordinating the events. This job requires lots of prior preparation, phone calls, and effort. I have earned hundreds of hours though JROTC. Also, I earned several hours through my volunteer work at an animal shelter. I am a dual enrollment student and will be graduating with my AA degree. I did not have much time to do other extracurricular because I was so focused on my academics this year (junior year). However, next year I plan to join clubs such as National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Book Club, Drill Team, and Psychology Club. Next year will also be my fourth year taking Spanish. I might take an AP class next year as well. I have participated in Science Fair and won second place in my category. Also, I earned prize money for the best application of social sciences. I plan to be a psychologist one day. I have ate weighted GPA of 4.6 and an unweighted GPA of 3.6. I am in the top two percent of my class. I am working on taking my ACT and SAT in the upcoming months. I took the ACT once but earned an average score.
It sounds as if your test scores are the weakest portion of your application. I recommend applying to any public colleges in your state that have a transfer agreement with your CC, and then researching test-optional colleges, unless you see a major improvement on your score reports. There are some great test-optional colleges that your background would suit you for perfectly. Go to the fairtest.org website.
Your weighted GPA is 4.6 (UW 3.6) but you might take an AP class your senior year? How many have you taken already in your 3 years? What sorts of schools are you targeting? Your focus should be squarely on boosting your ACT, even if it requires you rein in some of your ECs. At this point, your increased ACT is MUCH more important than frankly, every single one of your ECs. The sort of school (and possible merit scholarships) you’ll most likely target will be most affected by your transcript (choice of classes) and ACT/SAT. ECs will be a distant factor. Good luck to you.
