“Nerd” is the new cool.
This actually just changes the definition of nerd though.

I hope that nerdy guys notice girls. That would be awful if only the jocks reproduced.
I believe that nerdy guys notice girls, but they’re either too mature or too shy to flirt with them. Plus, a lot of them don’t want to get involved in a relationship while busy with schoolwork.
Yeah but there’s a lot of reasons why they don’t “pursue” them… No one they really like, too busy, too much drama. It all depends.
I disagree with most of the posts here that say that nerds are usually too busy/too mature to go after girls.
Really, guys? We’re talking about 16 year old boys. Sex drive of hyperactive bunnies.
The jocks will tend to be more confident and also more willing to be rude, which could explain a lot of the contrast.
I saw myself as a pretty big nerd (president of math club, debate, and band, loved doing math homework and reading research papers while everyone else was partying) and I would flirt like crazy with most girls (and many of the guys, for that matter) since I was 14. But maybe that’s just the Cuban in me, and I do admit that my friends flirted a lot less than our more athletic counterparts.
If the nerdy guys look like Tom Brady then I hope they notice girls and the jock guys look like Larry Bird then I hope they don’t notice girls. At least my girls anyway.
Some hobbies, EG: hang gliding, aerobatics, or competitive sailing, are sufficiently demanding of time, money, and emotional energy that you pick whether to pursue a social life within the sport or abandon the sport. You really can’t do both … and live. That was my experience.
I dropped that sort of thing when I was ready to settle down.
I didn’t expect so see a roast session, but that’s none of my business. [Insert Kermit the Frog drinking tea]
Anyways, I’d say they do notice girls. There are many reasons why they wouldn’t ask them out, like: they’re shy, they’re not THAT interested, or they don’t care to date.
