Do Previous Scores Get Cancelled If Caught Cheating on SAT?

I Got A High Score on my 1st SAT, yet I was caught cheating on the 2nd SAT test i did and I’m afraid they’re gonna cancel my previous high score. Will the do that? if not what will they do? I’m freakin’ out over here!

Curious, why did you cheat? If you already had a high score?

Don’t worry. You won’t just have your scores canceled, you’ll be thrown in jail, fined, and declined admission at any decent college. You don’t need to be just worrying about your scores being canceled! :)

Forgot to add the link: http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/story/2011-09-27/SAT-cheating/50568922/1

Who knows… you may even make it to the front page of Yahoo! News like those guys!

I was helping my friend but both of us got caught

Pepsi, this could be really bad for you. Your cheating may be disclosed to your HS, as well as to the colleges you apply to. This is more than just minor cheating. The students in NY are facing legal charges.

vlines ,they sent an irregularity form what could that mean?..what about my previous scores

Please someone answer im freaking out :(

You’re “freaking out”??? That seems appropriate, there are always consequences. You need to contact CB directly to get an answer about your prior scores, no one here knows.

I would check the collegeboard website…

Pepsi, you are missing the big picture here.
But to answer your question- the irregularity form bascially tells CB that you are suspected of cheating, and will explain the circumstances. CB will investigate. If they agree that you have cheated, then you may be facing more than just these scores cancelled. You could be facing criminal charges like the kids in NY. Depending on what that cheating consisted of.
In otherwords, you could be in deep doo-doo way beyond just having ALL of your scores cancelled. This is even more likely with the well publicized cheating scandal from this past week.

And you should be freaking out. This is a big deal.

is cancelling the score a solution ?? :(

Instead of starting an entire thread on this…

My incoherent proctor who couldn’t even get the directions right and some ridiculous event occured and thought I was cheating even though I wasn’t. So I am freaking out right now personally- BUT the main proctor listened to my side of the story and told me no one would know he would just file an irregularity report. I also researched and it said even if he said it was for cheating that nothing would happen, the scores would be canceled and no one would ever know. So I don’t know, this is making me second guess. I am freaking out.

I don’t know the answer to that. See if you can find out anything on the college board website. You may have to wait to call them on Monday to figure that out.

Anyone is cancelling the scores a solution !!!1

Pepsi and Arthur, did either one of you actually finish the exam?

You could try canceling the score yourself:
[SAT Reasoning Test - Canceling SAT Scores](Canceling Your SAT Scores – SAT Suite | College Board)
under “Canceling scores after leaving the test center”
But this can only go so far, though…

If you’re still worried, then stay away from the SAT and just focus on the ACT.

Well according to the article the ETS does NOT report anything to the HS or colleges.

So I am not so freaked out but I know people will be talking about it at my school and I hate that fact because this is BS that should have never happened to me.

And no I was out by section 5.

yes i did but after we finished the proctor made us talk to the supervisor ans she said she was going to file an irregularity report or something …

so i am safe :S

@Arthur and @Pepsi
Did you take the test at your home school? If so, then the teacher/supervisor may actually report it to the school and then they might put something nasty on your rec/transcript.
