Do Recommenders and UGrad Institions Rank You?

Is there something like the Secondary School Report that grad schools receive?

I honeslty dont think this is a thing, at all. But, a professor could say something amongst the lines of “this is one of the best people I’ve trained”, etc…

There’s nothing like a secondary school report, but professors will often rank you. They’ll say that you were among the top 10% or 5% of students in their class that year, or that they have taught in several decades, or ever. Not all professors do this, and it’s not a bad thing if they don’t. Honestly, they only should do it if they can say something very favorable about you. But if they do, it can enhance your recommendation.

Often, the forms that recommenders are asked to fill out ask specifically for a percentile ranking and what the group that you are being ranked against. Sometimes they put it in the letter too but often, that question must be answered to complete the form.
