<p>do you have to get recs from only teachers? I’m asking this bc. i’m doing research this summer w/ a princeton grad, and he does interviews for them.</p>
<p>Since you are doing research with this person this summer (in the future) s/he may not really have a lot to evaluate you on.</p>
<p>You can have this person write a supplemental recommendation however, your main recommendations should still come from your teachers and GC( it would send up a major red flag if they were missing as they are evaluating you as a student in an academic setting).</p>
<p>Definitely have the alum write a supplemental recommendation. However I agree with sybbie719, unless you have an unusual circumstances (i.e. being homeschooled as in my case) your recommendations should come from two academic teachers.</p>
