<p>I don’t think they cover everything… possibly enough to do well on the AP exam but I think they should really be only used as review and not for learning per se because I think that’s how they’re designed. I know, for instance, one wouldn’t be able to succeed in my AP Physics or AP Calculus courses knowing only what’s in the review book.</p>

<p>It depends on the subject. Some subjects (Psych and Human Geo are often in this catagory) can supposedly be aced with only a review book. Others (Physics and Chem) require much more intensive learning and at the very least require a textbook (if not work with a teacher).</p>
