I’m writing a supplemental essay, and I wonder what Richmond students usually refer to themselves? Is “Spiders” only used for the sports team? Thanks for the help!
It depends in what context, but yes students refer to themselves as spiders. If we’re like at an assembly or at an event, people will say they’re proud to be a spider. In fact, the richmond college (men’s residential college) has shirts that make a play on this that say “spider men”. It is NOT reserved for the sports teams.
