do schools under the same public university system share student info?

For example, if I attended U of Illinois at Springfield and I want to transfer to U of Illinois at Chicago, will U of Illinois at Chicago already have my U of I Springfrield transcripts, enrollment info already in their system?

If not, they can still get it a lot easier compared to other schools not in the same system right? Or are the two systems separate entities and their relationship is just like any other two random schools as far as this is concerned? thx

They actually do not. They keep their systems separate, so you will have to have the transcripts sent from UIS to UIC. I had to do the same thing from UIUC to UIC.

It is easier for them to get it. They are on the electronic system, so when you request it, they will electronically send the transcript from UIS to UIC.

They use the same computer system but each campus is separate from the other. You have to request the transcript be sent from one campus to the other. You will not have to pay any transcript fees, though. You will have a better chance at acceptance because you are at UIS.
