Do Summer Programs help out in the application process?

Curious, I’m attending 3 summer programs for sure this summer and possibly another if I get accepted.
-Youth Leadership Conference at San Diego State University through United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps

  • Junior State of America Summer School at Stanford University for A.P Government and Politics
    -Red Cross Leadership Camp
and possibly Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute at Washington D.C R2L next gen.
Do colleges actually care about how you spent your summer? Will attending these matter on my application? ( Plus a load IB summer work yay!)

They like to see you did something over your summers that will bring about personal growth, whether that be a summer camp, a job, etc. Of course, selective camps will make your application slightly more attractive, and summer programs that pay for you to attend are generally the most prestigious. So the answer is yes.
