Do the practical write-ups done at A-level count as 'research' when applying to colleges?

Hi,

I’m an international student studying A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I have seen that a few colleges in the U.S. allow you to submit any research you may have done as part of the application.

For A-level Chemistry and Physics, we do practical work, which we then do a written report on, including the hypothesis, method of investigation, risk assessments and conclusions & evaluations from the results.

Would it be ok for me to submit these as research I have done, or would colleges not like that?

Thanks in advance!

Abdullah

That sounds to me like a lab report which is done in every science class in every HS in the US. That is very different from original research.
