Do the UCs have gaps in what they offer?

I know that Cornell has a Hotel school, but I can’t find a similar program in the UC system. I am not sure where you would go in the UCs if you were interested in studying a modern performance program like, blues, rock or jazz quitar. Am I missing some steller programs or do the UCs have gaps in what they offer. What gaps have you found and how would you fix them.

Karlton E. Hester, Ph.D. (composer/flutist/saxophonist), is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of California in Santa Cruz. http://arts.ucsc.edu/faculty/Hester/

UCSC seems to offer a Jazz Minor, but don’t think this is what were are really looking for. http://music.ucsc.edu/undergrad/jazz_minor.html

Check out UCLA for some great performance programs. UCB also offers some, although I’m not sure how good it is.

The UCs seem to try to offer everything well, to be all around schools.
