Do these colleges look at senior year?

<p>I was wondering if the following list really considered senior year because I’ve moved so many times that my G.P.A. from my other schools changed dramatically dropping my G.P.A. by a lot. Another reason is because my school only has 1 A.P. class which I took this year when I moved here and I couldn’t participate in our P.S.E.O. classes which was taking courses at our local community college until senior year. During my senior year I plan on taking 8 classes(4 per semester) and was hoping it would really improve my chances for these colleges because I never had the opportunity to take A.P. classes during my freshman and sophomore year. My G.P.A. right now is a 3.1.</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure these schools consider first semester grades from your senior year. My advice to you: work your butt off first semester and also, I would even recommend sending these schools a cover letter explaining why your GPA is lower than their average. Anything helps!</p>

<p>I’d bet everything I own that UPenn, Vandy, WUSL (and probably the rest) DO care about your senior grades. They have tens of thousands of applicants and it’s probably like splitting hairs to distinguish one top candidate from another. Do whatever you can to raise/explain your GPA, and apply to some less selective schools in case your efforts don’t work.<br>

<p>Why those schools for engineering (except Purdue)? those schools arent even focused on engineering programs</p>

<p>Because they have biomedical engineering which I’m going into and most colleges don’t have it so I really can’t find a lot of them.</p>

<p>Most college will care about your senior year classes and they will likely receive a copy of your schedule along with the transcript from your HS. Many colleges will also want to see your seventh semester grades when they become available in January or so. Including a bit of information about your high school experience (moving, courses offered, etc) on your applications would be helpful as well. Be careful though - you don’t want to come off sounding whiny, nor do you want to write a dissertation about your life. Stick to the facts and keep it short. An additional letter from your counselor may be beneficial as well.</p>
