Do these factors affect transfer admission into a highly impacted major?

Just a quick question…

Do these factors make a transfer applicant into a highly impacted major at an UC more competitive?

  1. Completing english courses by the end of the fall semester and before the spring semester.
  1. Completing 60 UC transferable units by the end of the fall semester and before the spring semester.
  2. Completing the Honors Program by the end of the fall semester and before the spring semester.

I assumed that completing these three things did not play a role in being admitted…I never heard anything about completing English courses, completing 60 UC transferable units, and completing the Honors Program by the end of the fall semester and before the spring semester.

Instead, I know that completing major prep and the IGETC in the fall semester before the spring semester matters, along with TAP/TAG and a high GPA of course.

Can anyone clarify? Thanks.

In my experience, I haven’t heard of these mattering.

In general, having completed the major pre-req’s and IGETC ( if required, since some majors do not need IGETC), competitive GPA, meeting TAG/TAP requirements would be more important than the items mentioned in the above post. Of course, in an ideal world completing everything possible on the list at the time application, puts an applicant in a better position but not usually possible.
